My mini album

Well, I finally made a mini album and had so much fun. I used a clear 6x6 acrylic album, using Sassafras Lass Pocket Full of Posies paper line and had a blast. It was fast and easy and perfect for scrapping one of our day outings from our recent trip to Idaho, Bruneau Dunes. I used the idea from Gina Hanson who is on the DT at Crafter's Warehouse. Pictured is the cover, please see the slide show to see the rest of the completed album. Thanks for looking!

Blueberry Picking

Today I took the girls blueberry picking. We try and pick some sort of berry every year, sometimes cherries, strawberries, or blueberries. It's our tradition. I just created the LO for a sketch challenge over at Creative-Scrappers. Hailey was serious about picking the berries, and she only picked large, blue ones. So much fun!!

Here's some scrapping from our trip

This Layout was done for a Sketch Challenge at Creative-Scrappers, the sketch is by Tessa Ann Watte. I used orange, textured cardstock and then used Sassafrass Lass paper for the owl cutouts and the patterned paper. I am so loving this paper line--actually all their stuff. The journaling card was included on a matching sticker sheet--So much fun. It feels good to be scrapping again after a week of vacation-I have some catching up to do!

Back from Idaho!!

Wow, we just spent a week in Idaho. Close to Boise, and it was beautiful!! I was able to get some wonderful pics of the family on the Bruneau Dunes...wow, were they amazing, I can't wait to scrap some of them!! We were visiting my SIL, who also loves to scrap, and did we go scrap shopping while I was there. I brought home so many goodies and patterned paper! I'm hoping to get some scrapping in today, while I recoup from travel. Tomorrow I have to start working on a flowers for a wedding--so I won't get any scrapping in until Sunday again.

We Dare You Challenge #2

This LO, Feels Like Home, was created for a challenge on http://devosmommy.blogspot.com/

I like this challenge, because I don't ever scrap myself or about myself, so it's out of the box for me. Plus, the book that she's basing the challenge off of-tends to have an artsy, eclectic style. You don't have to use this style to enter the challenge, but I like to try and hone in on those skills, and expand my scrapping style and technique--so I try. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This challenge was for us to scrap our safe place, it could be a room, building, person etc. I scrapped my husband and used the lyrics from the song Feels Like Home, by CHANTAL KREVIAZUK

Busy Scrapping Sunday!!

I just finished a LO and a card for Creative Scrappers Forum. Every week they have a challenge focused on a sketch. The paper is Fancy Pants and My Mind's Eye. I completed the LO first and then used the scraps to make my card. I need to do that more often-before I clean up my space! FUN!! TFL

More about me...

So, just a little bit about me...I'm a SAHM of 3 beautiful daughters, ages 2, 4, and 6. They are my main focus of scrapbooking. I started scrapping when my first daughter was born and haven't stopped...I just keep trying to improve. I've been married for 11 1/2 years to a wonderful husband, who is my main support for all of my scrapping weaknesses. I couldn't do life without him, and just appreciate all he does for our family and the sacrifices he makes for us girls. My other hobbies include--gardening, singing on the church Praise Team, knitting, floral arranging and traveling.

Prior to being a SAHM I taught Horticulture at a school for socially, emotionally disturbed children. It was a wonderful experience, I do miss teaching, but at this stage in the game, home is where I need to be. I also partner with my parents, raising African Violets. We sell them at the Philadelphia Flower Show every March. This is one of the world's most spectacular flower shows and I have been selling violets there for about 18 years--I absolutely love it!!! If you ever have the opportunity to attend, it is a must see!!

My goals for the rest of this year, are to just keep scrapping like crazy. I've joined some forums and I am just amazed at how much I've improved just from working the challenges and chatting--and how many LO's I've gotten finished in the last month. I would like to someday get published and serve on a design team. At this point, I get super excited when I get chosen for Layout of the Day!!!! It makes me happy:) Thanks for having a peek at my blog...I hope to keep it updated regularly! Enjoy your weekend!

Here are some of my Layouts

Wow, I actually have a blog!!

So I've actually jumped on board and created a blog. This is something new to me. I do have a MySpace page, so hopefully, this will be similar in maintaining. I am hoping to use this blog for scrapbooking purposes. Thanks for looking and don't expect great blogging for awhile--I'm a little new at this!
